Spanaway man turns self in after allegedly killing wife and child

At 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday August 29th, 2012, a 40 year old man showed up at the Pierce County Jail claiming he had shot and killed his wife and daughter inside their Spanaway residence.  The suspect was detained while Sheriff’s deputies responded to the man’s residence in the 15500 block of 20th Ave. Ct. E. in Spanaway.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the residence, knocked on the doors and received no response.  Deputies then looked through the windows and saw an unresponsive person laying on a bed.  The deputies forced entry to the residence and discovered two female victims inside the home; both victims were deceased from gunshot wounds.

 The victims have been identified as 41 year old Kristi Holmes and 11 year old Violet Holmes. 

 The suspect has been cooperating with investigators and has indicated he was having marital problems as well as financial problems.  He has been booked into the Pierce County Jail on two counts of Murder in the 1st degree and is expected to make his first court appearance on Thursday August 30th, 2012.

 The investigation is ongoing.
