The purpose of the exercise is to focus on developing tactical bilateral-operations and war fighting skills between U.S. Army units and the JGSDF Task Force and develop tactical interoperability under field conditions and facilitate bilateral command and control. Additionally, participants will demonstrate small unit actions and battle-drills through maneuver training operations within non-urban and urban environments and perform live-fire weapons training as part of an overall integrated training scenario.

The exercise will provide several opportunities for media coverage, to include an opening ceremony Sept. 4, and a combined arms exercise Sept. 21, which will provide observers a look at how multiple assets work together in a field environment.
