National Voter Registration Day, September 25

Today is National Voter Registration Day! If you aren’t already, please register to vote, help your friends and family register, and check your registration status here.

During the middle of last week, 1.1 million people across the state received postcards from the Secretary of State. See the details here in an article by The Stranger. While the postcards were meant to be mailed to unregistered eligible voters, there was a significant issue with registered voters and non-citizens erroneously receiving these postcards.

If you are a registered voter and you received one of these postcards, you should still be registered, but please check with your local auditor’s office or the Secretary of State.

Washington has an On-Line Voter’s Guide where you can read candidate’s statements and learn more about what this election means to you. If you want to know more about incumbents and how they have been voting, you  will want to look up their record on the Washington Votes site. If you want to follow the money for a candidate, the Washington Public Disclosure Commission is the place to look for state and local races. The Federal Elections Commission is the place to look for the Congressional national races.
