Summit area to hold 25th district candidates forum Oct. 16

The Summit Waller Community Association and the Mid County Community Council are having a 25th Legislative District Candidate Forum for 2012 on Tuesday, October 16th, 7 p.m. at the Mid-County Community Center, 102015 44th Ave E, Tacoma, WA 98446.

Candidates for State Senator (Bruce Dammeier and Eric Herde), State Representative Position 1 (Dawn Morrell and Shelley Schlumpf) and State Representative Position 2 (Bill Hilton and Hans Zeiger) will answer questions about their positions.

The community associations sent out an email recently to members describing their interest is in asking the candidates about the new “Integrated Mobile Learning Platform” that was recently presented to the Franklin Pierce School District. They want bipartisan cooperation in Olympia to get more efficient technology based education programs for communities in Pierce County. One of their community goals was to get Olympia legislative assistance in getting funding to incubate start up funding for the FPSD “Learning Platform” since the FPSD is now working on this with the help from the communities within the district.

The Summit-Waller Community Association is a non-partisan community organization. All attempts will be made to present a balanced, fair forum. For more information contact summitwaller@gmail.com.
