Secondary Boundary Forums begin tonight (Oct. 30)

BETHEL SCHOOL DISTRICT — To alleviate overcrowding and to accommodate the shift to middle schools, the district is planning to adjust school boundaries for the upcoming school year. Parents and community members are invited to see proposed boundary changes to secondary schools at two upcoming forums: 

  •  Tuesday, Oct. 30, 6:30 p.m., Clover Creek Elementary School cafeteria
  •  Thursday, Nov. 1, 6:30 p.m., Liberty Middle School cafeteria 

The Secondary School Boundary Committee – a representative group of community members, with the assistance of school district staff – has been studying a change in middle and high school attendance areas. 
Some members will at the forum to help explain the draft proposal.

The school board will consider a final proposal from the committee and receive public testimony at its regular meetings on Nov. 20 and Dec. 11 before finalizing the middle school and high school boundary adjustments. If approved, the changes would be take effect at the start of the next school year. Additional information about changes to elementary boundaries will be available later this year.
