School Board meeting date changed; Secondary Boundary Hearing set for Nov. 20

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Bethel School Board has moved its regular meeting from Nov. 13 to Nov. 20.  The meeting will be held at 7p.m. at the Bethel Learning Center. At the meeting, the community will have an opportunity to comment on a proposal to change secondary boundaries. This will be the first of two public hearings. The second one will be held at the Board’s Dec. 11 meeting. The district is considering boundary changes at all schools to alleviate overcrowding and to accommodate the shift to middle schools. Maps of the proposed boundaries can be viewed at www.bethelsd.org. Just click on the secondary boundary study link in the Current Topics box. Written comments can be sent to the Bethel School District, Attention: Dr. Rob Van Slyke, at 516 – 176th St. E., Spanaway, WA, 98387-8399

If approved, the changes would be take effect at the start of the next school year. Additional information about changes to elementary boundaries will be available later this year.
