Saturday Nov. 17 – 100 year celebration for Brown & Haley

There is perhaps no sweeter local history than that of Brown & Haley. Begun in 1912, they are celebrating their 100th anniversary this weekend at their Fife location, 3500 20th St. E. in Fife. The party begins at 9:30 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m., with most festivities between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The beauty of their candy is that it is still made locally in Tacoma, one kettle at a time. According to the story in The News Tribune, there will be lots of free samples available at the party in Fife Saturday. Brown & Haley had a booth at the Puyallup Fair that sold out of the 100 year commerative tins. They also have a commorative Nutcracker tin.

“Brown & Haley has been a part of the fabric of Tacoma and Pierce County for 100 years,” said company President and CEO Pierson Clair. “The families and individuals of our community have supported us through World War I, The Great Depression, World War II, the Great Recession, and we are most thankful.”
