22nd Avenue is torn up again. A section of the roadway from 184th to 187th is currently torn up and on Monday was a one lane roadway. They didn’t completely close the road, as has often happened for months while a sewer project worked its way down the road.

The Post is trying to get information about the construction blockage and how long it is scheduled to last. There has been traffic blockage there off and on for a couple of months now during different phases of the construction. There are no roadwork signs at the site to tell motorists what is taking place.
Lennar Northwest Inc. is listed as the owner doing the development titled, Brink Ranch. Public Works engineer Ralph Lusaro (retired) issued this permit. The review engineer currently responsible for this project is Chuck Hendrickson. On Nov. 19, 2012 an inspector was on site to look over the work in progress.
The Post contacted the engineering firm and received a call back from Ryan McGowan at Lennar Northwest as to their time frames. He said the target is Dec. 11, but with the potential for weather delays, it could be as late as Dec. 15. Alternate routes would be useful to your commute and helpful to them as well. 38th or 14th Avenue or B Street are alternative routes between 176th and 192nd Streets to avoid the delays and messy gravel roadway.
The project will be adding a two-way left turn lane at the site to assist with the traffic flow from the new Brink Ranch development. There will also be curbs, gutters and sidewalk along 22nd Ave at the site. The Post is hopeful that eventually the length of 22nd Avenue, where all the new developments are going in one at a time, will have a full sidewalk before all the new residents decide they need to start jogging along 22nd. It has been one of the more difficult roads to be a pedestrian or cyclist on in the area due to ditches and lack of road edge space.
