What’s Happening
Tucci and Sons, Inc. is on site performing the following work:
- Preparing the temporary traffic signal system
- Installing earth walls
- Installing utilities
- Excavating storm ponds and installing topsoil and hydroseed
- Installing chain link fence around ponds
About the Project
Improvements being constructed on approximately 0.98 miles of 176th Street East from 14th Avenue East to Waller Road East (CRP 5536) include the following:
- Expanding to four lanes and paved shoulders with a raised median or U/left-turn lane at designated locations.
- Adding concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks.
- Adding street lighting.
- Improving the traffic signals at 14th Avenue East and 22nd Avenue East.
- Adding an enclosed storm drain system as well as stormwater treatment and storage facilities.
Project Timeline
May 2012: Pierce County awarded the contract to Tucci and Sons, Inc.

June 2012: Notice To Proceed
Fall 2012: Utility Window
Winter 2012: Winter Suspension
Spring 2013: End of Utility Window and Winter Suspension
