Festive events to get you in the holiday spirit

Lacamas Community Center Holiday Bazaar, Dec. 1 & 2, 10am – 4pm. Find that perfect decoration or gift for your loved ones. There will be two buildings full of craft items for sale and free crafts for the kids to make while you are there.

Fort Nisqually 19th Century Christmas, Dec. 1, 10am – 5pm. A day of Christmas celebrations, the bringing in of the Yule log, regales for the laboring men of the fort, cookies, hot cider and all of the other wonderful things that bring Christmas Day of 1855 to life!

Eatonville Christmas Parade, Dec. 1, 6pm hosted by the Eatonville Chamber of Commerce. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the town Visitor’s Center on Mashell Avenue and join us for pictures, cookies and cocoa .

Nelson Elementary 3rd Annual Jingle Bell Family Fun Run/Walk, Saturday, Dec. 1. The event includes a 5K, plus a one mile race and a kids dash. 

PLU’s 61st annual Sankta Lucia Fest, Dec. 2. Pacific Lutheran University’s Sankta Lucia Fest is December 2 in Lagerquist Hall. Admission is free for PLU students & children under 10. Scandinavian Cultural Center members & Senior Citizens are $5. General Admission is $7.

Dec. 3, 4 p.m., McChord Field, The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at McChord Field begins at 4 p.m. Dec. 3 at building 746, McChord Field Chapel Support Center. The tree lighting ceremony will include singing Christmas Carols and a guest appearance by Santa Claus.

Dec. 6, 4:30 p.m., Lewis Main,  The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Lewis Main begins at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in front of Jensen Gym, building 2022. There will be a reception at the Army Family Covenant (AFC) Arena, building 2275 immediately following the lighting ceremony.

The first Sunday of Advent is Dec. 2.

Hanukkah is Dec. 8 – 16
