FRANKLIN  PIERCE SCHOOL DISTRICT — In early 2012, James Sales Elementary of the Franklin Pierce School District in Parkland, WA was recognized by the Ellen DeGeneres Show with a $100,000 grant from the Target Corporation. The work they were recognized [for] is work that still continues, and the outcomes have all been positive — increased attendance, increased academic achievement, decreased behavior issues, and an overall positive climate and culture. This short video was produced to give viewers a glimpse of this marvelous story that continues to be written, as teachers continue to teach and students continue to learn.

This year’s 12 Days of Hope — the same program that got them recognition last year — will occur through the last school day of the 2012 year, December 19.
