Washington, we have a challenge for you!

We want YOU to volunteer in your community AND nominate outstanding volunteers for a 2013 Washington State Jefferson Award. Do you know people who have made a difference in your community? The Jefferson Awards honor ordinary people who do extraordinary things for others. Initiated in 1972 to create a “Nobel Prize” for public service, awards are presented both locally and nationally. Use this form to nominate your outstanding volunteer today! About the process:

Five volunteers from Washington State will receive the 2013 Washington State Jefferson Award for their outstanding volunteerism. The winners will be selected by a panel of community leaders and their stories will be told on KING5’s Evening Magazine the week of March 18th. One winner will be selected as the National Nominee and will represent our state in Washington D.C. in June. You can help select the National Nominee by watching KING5’s Evening Magazine during the week of March 18, then voting at KING5.com or by phone. Anyone in Washington State can vote.

All five winners will be recognized at public event in the Spring in Seattle and will receive in-kind consulting services from Wimmer Solutions and volunteer management services from United Way of King County. The National Nominee will be announced at that time and also featured that day on KING5’s New Day Northwest.
