Summit, Longest Night Service Dec. 21

By Judy Highton

SummitUMC1Tonight, at Summit United Methodist Church on the winter solstice, Friday, December 21, at 7 pm, there will be a Longest Night Service. This is a service of hope for those experiencing grief, loss, loneliness, or any other setback at this time of the year. The service is quiet and meditative and focuses on the comfort God offers to all during dark times. There will be candle lighting during the service to bring light to the darkness.

There will be no adult Sunday school December 23 because the leader, Sandy Sheldon, is in the hospital. Please keep her in your prayers.

Worship with us this 4th Sunday of Advent at 11 am. Shepherds are the topic of this week’s “Characters of Christmas” sermon series.SummitUMC2

Our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held at 8 pm this year, in order to give families more time for their activities/meal before coming to church. Bring your extended family with you. Invite your friends and neighbors.
