Bethel Board recognizes AP scholars

BETHEL SCHOOL DISTRICT — On January 8, the Bethel Board was introduced to students who recently received AP Scholar designations. Last spring students at Bethel, Graham-Kapowsin and Spanaway Lake High Schools took Advanced Placement (AP) exams in many different subject areas. In all, 905 AP exams were administered to students in the district. A 5 is the highest score possible on an AP exam. Students recognized by the Board received at least one of the following honors.

AP Scholar – students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams
• • BHS: Ian Briske, Olivia Clarke, Antoinette Graham, Emmalee Kuhlmann, Demetrius Lenoir, Justin Patton, Stormy Ross, and Autumn Stansbury.
• • GKHS: Emily Barack, Breanna Burgess, Nellie-Kate Hollenbaugh, Trevor Houle, Cody Lynn, Cassandra Solmonsen, and Dana Whitmore.
• • SLHS: Marissa Barnett, Amarachi Ejiawoko, Ike Emeche, Tyler Evans, Sadie Gardner, Nathaniel Heatherly, Brittney Robinett, Fallon Stanley, and Cole Thompson.

AP Scholar with Honor – students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams
• • BHS: Trevor Brewer and Megan Cook.
• • GKHS: Joanne Bae, Amy Bernstein, Kristin Berry, Jessica Boyd, and Tyler Carrigan.
• • SLHS: Ruth Isenberg, Kelley Rehms, and Devan Salter

AP Scholar with Distinction – students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams
• • BHS: Shelby Sewright.
• • GKHS: Jacob Hatzinger, Sean Phenisee, Bailey Portmann, and Derek Scherrer.
• • SLHS: Nyki Anderson, Brandon Dean, Matthew Lamantia, and Kathryn Rankin.

National AP Scholar – students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight of more of these exams
• • GKHS: Jacob Hatzinger.
