More Lancer Soldiers, Brigade Command team return from Kandahar

JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD, Wash. – After weeks of returning flights, over half of the 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division has returned home safely from Kandahar. Over the past nine months, the Brigade has worked to secure peace and stability while training the Afghan National Army in preparation for the eventual turnover to the Afghan government. The Brigade Commander, Col. Barry F. Huggins, and Brigade Command Sergeant Major, Command Sgt. Maj. Andrew B. Connette, are scheduled to return Wednesday afternoon along with almost 300 other Soldiers.

Family, friends, and fellow Soldiers will gather to welcome their loved ones home at a short ceremony following their return.
