BETHEL SCHOOL DISTRICT — Eleven Bethel area teachers are the recipients of this year’s LeMay Grant Awards from the Bethel Foundation. Each year, the Bethel Foundation, a non-profit organization established to support arts, academics, and athletics in the Bethel School District distributes LeMay grants to fund projects that enhance student learning and support school needs. This year, over $3,000 was awarded for staff projects. Recipients include:

- Becky Rambow, Kapowsin Elementary: Environmental Appreciation Project
- Carrie Willenbring, Bethel Middle School: Audio Books
- Jeanne Staley, Frontier Middle School: eBook Devices
- Carina Pierce, Cougar Mountain Middle School: iPad
- Sheryl St. John, Shining Mountain Elementary: Gardening Club
- Sandy Tillman, Bethel High School: Meeting Needs and Wants: An International Perspective
- Donovan Schreiner, Frederickson Elementary: Martin Luther King Jr. Portrait
- Nita Hill, Roy Elementary: “Why Try”
- Meghan Van Horn, Clover Creek Elementary: Pueblo Pottery “Building Through Art”
- Victoria Hallberg, Graham-Kapowsin High School: Washington State Journalism Camp
The Foundation begins accepting applications for the LeMay grants in December. As an approved nonprofit organization, donations to the Bethel Foundation are welcomed. All individual donations are eligible for a federal tax deduction. For more information, go to http://www.bethelfoundation.org/.
