The Pierce Prairie Post coverage area includes the Bethel and Franklin Pierce School Districts, mainly. Since the coverage is Midland to McKenna, a small part of the news will also include the Yelm School District.
The unincorporated county zip codes we mainly cover are 98387, 98444, 98445, 98446, 98580 and 98558. (also the incorporated city of Roy) According to the 2010 census this is approximately 128,254 residents. Adding the South Hill portions of Frederickson and Graham would be another 99,065 residents. Together, you are a significant part of Pierce County and the overall Pierce County voter base. Please note, if you do that math, you are LARGER than the population of Tacoma.
We at the Post are striving to bring you local news with a different flavor, the good news first. As possible, we also cover the bad, the ugly and the government. That said, this is a link to the minutes of your county council’s meetings. http://www.co.pierce.wa.us/Archive.aspx?AMID=179
Make sure they hear your voice, not just Tacoma’s. The South part of the county is more than just a landfill and a real mountain. Please feel free to send your local news ideas, events and comments to the Post at pierceprairiepost@hotmail.com.
