Spring is beginning to make its appearance and with it, the crocus and daffodils can’t be far behind. The Daffodil Festival has a full complement of princesses and March 13, they will choose their queen.
To participate in the Grand Floral Parade with a princess, each school district must enter a float. Just who builds the float is one of the biggest conundrums of every community. Volunteer are badly needed. This is one of the most visible art opportunities in the community. If you have talent from welding and carpentry to small motors or painting, your skills are likely needed. Really needed.
Here are the people you can call to get involved!
For the Bethel District contact Dodi Raden 253-683-6050, draden@bethelsd.org. Bethel Needs a building to build the float i. In needs to be 14 foot clearance height for the door. Anyone willing to move their RV into the rain for a few weeks?
For the Franklin Pierce District contact Justin Luckman at 253-298-3026, jluckiman@fpschools.org.
Final float decorating (placing daffodils) typically occurs April 11-12, often, there is work taking place in advance to design and build components. The Grand Floral Parade is April 13.
