FRANKLIN PIERCE SCHOOL DISTRICT — On March 8th, 11 female cadets from Washington High School ventured to The Museum of Flight for the annual “Women Fly” program. As the name implies, the target audience for this event is young women who are interested—or at least might be interested—in an aerospace career.

The event included the opportunity to participate in two workshops. The attendees got to select from a variety of choices including nanotechnology, robotics, aerospace engineering, planetarium, a tour of the museum’s Lockheed Constellation and aviation art. The day was topped off with lunch and an opportunity to mingle with women already involved in aerospace. The entire event was an awesome chance for the nearly 300 young ladies in attendance to get a better idea about aviation.
