[Editor note:If you are from the south county we would suggest you also say you support the Cross Base Highway SR704 and the Yelm ByPass SR507, although the Chamber wants to focus, we can’t ignore our own needs.]
From the Tacoma Pierce County Chamber of Commerce
COMPLETE SR 167
Lawmakers need our help. They are asking for constituents to be more vocal in their support for a transportation revenue package.
Here is the good news: key decisions makers have acknowledged the critical importance of completing State Route 167, whether it be Governor Inslee, House Transportation Committee Chair Judy Clibborn, or Senate Transportation Committee co-chairs Tracey Eide and Curtis King. The Pierce County legislative delegation is also united in support for the project. Lawmakers from throughout state, including eastern Washington, have declared it a project of statewide significance.
The bad news is they are not hearing enough people express support for a transportation revenue package to pay for the project. Several lawmakers have said that they are not getting enough e-mails, phone calls or letters from their constituents about the need to pass a transportation revenue package. They are asking for your help.
The easiest way to share your support for a transportation revenue package that invests in SR-167 is to call the Legislative Hotline at 800.562.6000. With one call, operators will take your message and deliver it to all three of your lawmakers, even if you do not know their names.
If you would prefer to send an e-mail instead, you can look up your lawmakers’ email addresses here.
In either case, the time is NOW for you to contact your legislators and ask them to support a transportation revenue package that funds SR-167.
