The Pierce County project that is widening 176th Street in Spanaway will have a significant road closure now estimated to be April 20-22, 2013. [Editor note: The closure has been updated to May 3 to 5.]
The entire intersection of 176th and 22nd Avenue will be closed as crews completely replace and re-engineer the traffic signal system at that location. The only vehicles allowed through the intersection will be emergency vehicles, since the fire station is immediately adjacent to the site. Detours will be posted at that time.
The Pierce Prairie Post will update you on this project and the closure as the date approaches. Weather could potentially slow down the project and date modification could possibly have to be made.
