James Sales Elementary receives High Progress recognition from OSPI

FRANKLIN PIERCE SCHOOL DISTRICT — James Sales Elementary was just announced as a recipient of the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction’s (OSPI) 2012 Washington Achievement Awards.

Specifically, James Sales Elementary is being recognized as a “High Progress” school.

Washington Achievement Award winners are selected using the Washington Accountability Index and criteria in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Flexibility Waiver. The award is given to elementary, middle, high and comprehensive schools in seven categories: overall excellence, language arts, math, science, closing achievement gaps and high progress (Title I eligible and participating schools only).

In the past year, James Sales Elementary has also received a School of Distinction designation from the Center for Educational Effectiveness, and a designation as a “Reward” school from OSPI’s ESEA awards program.
