Lots of cars were doing U-turns after cruising past the alternate route signs Friday night in Spanaway. No hablo Engles? Perhaps for some. But the truth is, 176th has had signs posted for a couple weeks prior to this road closure. The intersection at 22nd Avenue is having its asphalt ground and hauled away Friday night. If drivers could see the 10 inch deep gouge they are putting in the road, they would understand.

We will post photos of the progress. The intersection is supposed to be finished by 5pm Sunday night or Tucci will be paying $5000 fines for every hour they exceed that mark according to the county Public Works person on site.

So if you need to go south of 176th, remember to take Canyon Road, Waller Road or B Street to get where you are going. Just for the weekend. To all the drivers turning around, well, you were amusing in your disbelief.
