BETHEL SCHOOL DISTRICT — Cougar Mountain Middle School, Graham, WA is having the first Anti-Bullying walk to promote awareness in our state, community and schools about the effects of bullying. Everything at this event is free through the hard work of the students and their fundraising and donations from Boeing and Pepsi. There will be free drinks, healthy snacks, anti-bullying school supplies and information, and T-Shirts.
This walk will take place this Saturday, June 8th at 12:00 pm. The community and Bethel students will walk from the middle school to Bethel High School. The students will be releasing 100 balloons with victims names of children on the balloons who have taken their lives due to bullying.
We are inviting you to this event to spread this very important message in our communities.

I just seen the story about this on the news and I am not one to “leave a comment” but this walk was very touching to me!!!! The girl who put the walk all together had a great idea to put names of remembered teens on the balloons and then let them go in the end. I’ve heard protesters say, “if it even changed one persons outlook on things, then it was worth it” and I am atleast one! I hope I can be able to do this walk next year…and truth be told; out of “the bully” and “bullied” I would probably be considered “the bully” in school. Supporting this walk would be a way to make some amends 🙂 The world is a better place, thanks to people like you!!!

Thank you. Our editor, Marianne used to be ont he shcool board and we lost a GK student during that time. It is too sad. We recently posted a story about the wedding of the editor’s close friend that is gay. He was bullied while in school. So glad that he was able to tough it out, find himself and be happy. Others need that encouragement, it is vital. Thanks for doing this!
Have you seen that video from Columbia High School in Nampa, Idaho?!
Did not look at the video, but saw the photo. Looks like their school board also has work to do.
