Franklin Pierce Schools hosts four summer meal sites
Franklin Pierce Schools will again host sites for the USDA Summer lunch program. The Summer Lunch Program serves lunches to all children and teens 18 years of age and younger free of charge. No registration is required, simply visit any of the participating locations listed below during designated serving times. Meals are served Monday through Friday, from June 24 through August 9, 2013. Meals must be eaten on site and cannot be taken to go. Menus will be posted at each location.
Brookdale Elementary: 611 132nd St S, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Christensen Elementary: 10232 Barnes Lane, 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Harvard Elementary: 1709 85th St E, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Tahoma View Apartments: 11208 1st Ave Ct E, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Bethel School District to offer Summer Food Program for Children
The Bethel School District announces the sponsorship of the Simplified Summer Food Program of Children. Lunches will be made available at no charge to attending children 18 years of age and younger.
Lunches will be provided at the following sites from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday to Friday, June 24 to August 16, 2013 (except July 4).

New this year, Child Nutrition Services has partnered with the Tacoma-Pierce County YMCA to offer the “Play, Eat, Repeat!” Program. The YMCA will be on site at both locations from 10:30-12:30 offering a fun, physical activity and fitness program. Contact each summer feeding site for more details.

This is wonderful but still there are no feeding programs in south pierce county and without bus service south of 176 children in this area cannot get to the food!
