Parkland, WA — The Relay for Life of Central Pierce benefiting the American Cancer Society is this Friday, June 21st, at 6pm until Saturday, June 22nd, at 6pm. The relay will be held at Franklin Pierce High School, 11002 18th Ave E, Tacoma. According to their event site there are 35 teams and 354 participants signed up at this time.
Folks will show up to walk one lap or stay all night. There are bands, food, games, and fun that can be enjoyed by people of all ages!
The 2013 Central Pierce Relay theme is “Relaying Through Decades – Celebrating 100 Years of Relay”
Each team is asked to pick a decade, decorate their campsite and their teammates according to that decade. Participants will be entertained for the entire event.
According to the event site, “Relay For Life is a celebration of survivorship – an occasion to express hope and our shared goal to end a disease that threatens the lives of so many people we love.”
