From Equal Rights Washington (ERW), July 8, 2013:
Volunteer With ERW This Saturday For Tacoma’s Pride Festival
Come Join ERW at our booth at Tacoma’s “Out in the Park 2013” Pride Festival at 9th and Broadway in Downtown Tacoma on Saturday, July 13 from 12pm to 5pm. We need volunteers to staff the booth and collect postcards urging congress to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). For those who wish to volunteer, follow this link.
Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA): Due to Emerge from U.S. Senate Committee This Wednesday
A U.S. Senate committee will vote Wednesday on long-overdue legislation to protect LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) workers from discrimination. The Senate Health, Labor, Education & Pensions Committee holds its markup Wednesday at 10 a.m. Eastern time on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. A successful vote would mark the first time a version of ENDA with transgender protections advances in Congress. Until this law is passed by both the Senate and the House of Representatives, people in 29 states in the U.S. can still be fired for being LGBT. Fortunately, Washington is not one of them, but still. . . you might have to move out-of-state some day.
This link is for those who wish to encourage their Congress people to end workplace discrimination:
