The intersection at 176th Street and 22nd venue is under a major construction push again. There are flaggers at all four sides and the delays are long. There is a big, lane wide cut out in the center of 22nd Avenue on the south side of the intersection. Avoid if at all possible. You won’t be happy waiting to get through.
Kurt Bright, County Engineer says this work to replace the old 22nd Avenue roadway approaching the 176th Street intersection will take two days and is expected to have the replacement paving completed by 3am on Saturday, July 13. That is just in time for you to use 22nd Ave. as an alternate route during the Seattle to Portland ride on Saturday. Waller to 152nd, to B Street to 159th to Pacific Avenue to Roy and McKenna is the route for bicycles that day.

The remainder of the project, from B Street to 14th Avenue on 176th has begun and you will see they are starting to fell the trees along 176th. Here is the link to this other portion of the 176th Street project.

- Utilizing pervious concrete sidewalks and shoulders to reduce surface water runoff.
- Adding street lighting.
- Adding an enclosed storm drain system and stormwater treatment and storage facilities.
