Waiting in line on 176th Street and 22nd Avenue?

This morning at 3 a.m. the work was supposed to be completed on the leveling of 22nd Avenue at 176th Street. If  you tried to get home that way,  you probably had to wait as long as 10 or 15 minutes for your turn to pass through. Only on direction of traffic at a time was able to enter the intersection. At 5 p.m., that meant seriously long lines.

For those of you who are reading the Post, we’re hoping you were smart enough to stay away. If you needed to get into the housing development on the corner, there was almost a 2 foot drop at your entrance and egress and entrance meant driving on the sidewalk for 50 feet. By 6 p.m. they had prepared a temporary gravel ramp as a dubious alternative. Cars turning around in line was a common occurrence.

Here are a few photos of the organized chaos.
