National Night Out – a fun time for good neighbors

on

One the evening of August 6, the post travelled out an about the Parkland and Spanaway areas, taking photos and visiting with neighbors, politicians and various representatives of the Sheriff’s department, including Sheriff Paul Pastor himself.

On A Street and 117th in parkland, Safe Streets had a very large, well attended event. Representative Dawn Morrell was also there. There was  lots of food, clowns, balloons, raffles and Safe Streets helpers.

Near Sprinker on 144th Street, there was a good-sized crowd of neighbors with pot luck delights. County Councilman Doug Richardson was present to chat with constituents.

At Spanaway Park there is a 4 day event for people to enjoy. There were booths, bouncy toys, singers, and a place to bring food donations. This event continues through August 9.

Neighbors on 180th Street Ct. E., behind the Washington Horseman’s Unit meet with Department of Corrections officials, talked about how to learn about where sex offenders are living. Then Sheriff Paul Pastor showed up escorted by Public Information Officer, Ed Troyer.

It was a wonderful time for good people to get together and talk about keeping their neighborhoods safe.
