Both the Garfield Street Fair in Parkland and Freddy Fest in Frederickson (at Sound Life Church) are taking place this weekend on August 17. There is also McKenna Fest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. near the intersection of SR702 and SR507 in McKenna.
With classic cars, food, vendors, music, kids events and so much more, local should have no shortage of options to have a really great time!
Around noon, Freddy Fest is having a Corporate Chili Cook Off. The 723 Networking group from JR’s Whistle Stop is facing off against a group from Ricky J’s Restaurant and others. Rumor has it one of the judges is Bethel Superintendent, Tom Siegel.

9 a.m. Freddie Fest begins and the Pierce County Community Big Band will be on stage
11:30 a.m., Kira Crandall, singer songwriter from Graham Kaposwin High School performs.
12 noon Chili Cookoff judging begins
12:30 p.m. Ted Vigil, the John Denver impersonator will perform on stage
2 p.m. Chili Cookoff Awards
2:30 p.m. Car Show Awards



There has been a last minute change in the Chili judges, Jay Brower will be replacing Tom Siegel.
