Behind the Baydos car lot in McKenna is a large grassy field, Today it was transformed into a magical place to visit for folks near and far. The event was organized by a group of dedicated local people who wanted to see the community have a change to come out and celebrate their own place it he work, McKenna.
Bouncy houses, vendors with art, books, novelties and services, ice cream treats and some live country music were all part of the flavor of the festival. The local Cowboy Church members that helped work on the festival project had festival shirts printed.
McKenna Fest was held August 17, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. although many vendors closed their booths around 4 p.m.
The Post was there in the late afternoon and took some photos.
