Friday, August 16, classmates from the Parkland School met for a potluck. Food and frolic and even some singing by the Jensen girls was on order for the day. Some of you might recognize one of the Jensen girls, that would be our former county councilwoman Barbara Gelman.
There are many notable locals that attended the Parkland School between 1902 and 1954. Karen Browning Ansteth was President of the Altrusa Foundation when the Skateboard Park was built at Sprinker. Don Leonard started an excavation company in Spanaway. Roger Lincoln started a construction company in Spanaway. The list goes on and on.
Organizer Gary Ellingson brought a box full of old class photos for everyone to enjoy. Here are a few for you to see.
