Thun Field on Saturday August 24 was the site of the Cub and Classic Fly In.  Participants had to pass through Spencer Air to participate. For $20 they could buy a T–shirt and get a barbecue chicken dinner.

Among the Cubs, Super Cubs, Champs, Stearmans, and other assorted planes was the DC-3 that Eric Thun and Dan Merritt restored. Eric noted the plane had sold and would be leave the area to a California buyer on Sunday. After seven years of ownership, it was time to let go. The DC-3 was beautifully restored, but at 100 gallons an hour, extremely expensive to fly.
