Dupont: Hudson Bay Day connects our history

The Hudson Bay Company wasn’t just at Fort Nisqually. That was it’s headquarters in Pierce County, but when the fur trade subsided, theirPuget Sound Agricultural Company raised produce, livestock and sold them along with implements useful to residents in the area.

Parkland, Spanaway, Elk Plain, Rocky Ridge and Roy all had farms related to the HBC operations. The town of Dupont has been celebratting HBC Day for several years now. History based groups from Fort Steilacoom, Meeker Days and other museums and projects attend the event.
