The Roy Pioneer Rodeo is underway. There was a big turnout today and it runs again on Sunday.
The Roy Elementary Mustangs PTA was on hand selling snacks, which included great big scrumptious pickles on a stick. The ice cream booth was backed up with a long line due to the 80 degree weather. Also apparently doing well was Rainier Therapeutic Riding. They were raising money to support their program for wounded warriors. Their therapy horses have helped many soldiers deal with the less obvious mental wounds from the war.
The Post spoke to several attendees and apparently Danielle Marie (Hawk) Swy nailed her performance of the National Anthem. If you have ever heard here karaoke at the Roy Pub and Eatery, you would have had every confidence she would do fine. She and her brother Ben, are both very good singers.
Meanwhile back in town, the local watering holes are preparing for the Saturday night hoedown. Cowboy hats, boots and blue jeans will fit right in.
The General Store and Steakhouse Saloon is open at 4pm for dinner
They will have live country music.; there’s a $5 cover charge.
