By Marianne Lincoln
Last Thursday, I wrote the following poem for my son’s father-in-law who passed away last week. After wandering around the LeMay car show and a few others last weekend and taking a few select photos of angel hood ornaments, I came up with the following poem. If you have recently lost a car lover, you are welcome to use it. I would also love to have you share information with me about who you shared it with at PiercePrairiePost@hotmail.com.

Pretty one.
Your lines are so smooth to touch.
Your bright paint
Glistens in the sun
As you rest there on the lot.
Next to all the others,
You’re the best.
Let’s go for a ride.
The door is open.
The upholestry’s smooth.
The engine purrs.
The pitch of the tires on the road
Sing a melody.
Feel the soft breeze from the window.
The wind in my hair
Brings a smile to my face.
Take me there to
My next destination.
