Parkland Parish Quilt Co has a quiet but strong following

Beside all the noise of dense traffic from Pacific Ave, there is a church building sitting quietly on the side. This building can be easily ignored because of its inconspicuous location. But a colorful quilt shop, Parkland Parish Quilt Co., happened to find this antique church a perfect place to settle.

Stepping into the shop, customers will walk through carpet that makes subtle squeaky noise. The smell of new fabric and wood mix together in the air. Breathing it into your lung will make your mind wonder how old this place is. According to the shopkeeper, Kathy Afflerbaugh, the church has been around in Parkland for over a century. The history of this church  has certainly added more vintage character to the shop. Parkland Parish Quilt Co.  celebrates its 10-year anniversary this month.

Like many other quilt shops, Parkland Parish is able to offer a variety of fabrics, patterns, and quilting classes to its customers.  But most importantly, Parkland Parish values the relationship established with each person who walks into the shop. In this welcoming environment, you can find friends who share the same interests, who encourage you to be creative, and who can support your for what you have accomplished. No matter what you are made of, this is a place for you to shine.

Diane Ricks, as someone who used to take classes at Parkland Parish and has now become one of the employees, loves working at Parkland Parish Quilt Co. Ricks will be sharing her story with you in the following video:
