Tornado hits Frederickson Monday

FREDERICKSON, WA — Monday, September 30 at 7:20 a.m. an EF-1 tornado passed through the Frederickson area. Several buildings, trees, automobiles and rail cars were damaged by the cell. The weather service reported the tornado had winds up to 110 m.p.h.DSC_7141

Buildings belonging to EnCon and Northwest Door near 190th and Canyon Road suffered damage as well as cars in the parking lots from flying debris. Several Tacoma Rail cars were tipped over and crushed nearby fencing.

On Facebook, friends were sharing about Al Hursh, whose house suffered tornado damage from trees in the yard that twisted and snapped off. It is near Pioneer Valley Elementary. Al is the manager of the Graham O’Reilly’s. Many of his neighbors lost shingles and had other debris damage to their homes as well.
