Bethel Over Emerald Ridge 28-21, Homecoming

SPANAWAY, WA — It was all there, the balloons, the streamers, the hats, shirts and school colored camo pants. There was royalty arriving in classic cars at half time, cheerleaders, hoots, howls, the band playing pep tunes and lots of people.

The first score went to the Bethel Braves, but the Emerald Ridge Jaguars soon tied it up. Then the Jags pulled a head by a touchdown. Bethel caught up then pulled ahead. Then Emerald Ridge caught up and it was 21-21. In the fourth quarter Bethel was on a fourth down and lining up to punt.

The quarterback pulled off a fake punt and they ran the ball within 3 years of the goal. The next play they got the touchdown that won the game. The players involved did running chest bumps. It was fun to watch their excitement at pulling off the fake.

Congratulations Bethel, nice job!
