BETHEL SCHOOL DISTRICT — One local middle school and three elementaries have made the elusive ‘Schools of Distinction’ list for academic achievement. Liberty Middle School and Centennial Elementary made the list for the first time. Nelson and Evergreen elementary were repeat winners.

These schools represent the top 5% of improvement of all schools in Washington state, who have demonstrated sustained improvement in reading and math over a five-year period. The schools will be recognized at a special reception on Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. at the Puget Sound ESD in Renton.
