DUPONT, WA — Tuesday, October 15, 2013, the DuPont General Store will hold a Grand Opening. Located at 1495 Wilmington Drive in DuPont, Washington, the store will be the first grocery store to open in the community in decades.

DuPont General Store owner Sandy Ikemeier was the owner of Spanaway Fitness on 138^th Street between Parkland and Spanaway.

The DuPont General Store, is located on the lower level of the America’s Credit Union building. It will carry items such as meats, grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods, dairy products, baking supplies, baby supplies, cereal, pet food, and peanut butter. Ikemeier has also included a commercial kitchen in the space, capable of producing home-made pies, cakes, cookies, soups, wraps and salads. When the base PX and BX are unavailable, the community will certainly appreciate not having to drive all the way to Lakewood or Lacey to pick up supplies.

Ikemeier said the store will be open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend the grand opening on Oct. 15. The doors will open at 8 a.m.
