PIERCE COUNTY, WA — The preliminary numbers are in for election night. Final number will be certified in a couple weeks. Generally, most races are able to be called from the preliminary numbers.

Most notable are the passage of Roy’s Proposition 1, Central Pierce Fire and Rescue’s Proposition 1. South Pierce Fire and Rescue’s Proposition 1 is shy of the 60% it needs to pass..

In the Bethel School District they will add Amy Pivetta Hoffan as a school board member replacing the seat vacated by Joy Cook and kept warm by the appointment of Michael Audas.

Another contested race was Central Pierce Fire commissioner seeing Bob Willis willing over Matt Holm and in the Graham Fire District Russ Barstow unseating current commissioner and former Bethel teacher, Verne Pierson from Position 2.

John Christian also won over Kevin Kneeshaw in the Graham Fire Commission race for Position 5.
