SPANAWAY, WA — Wednesday evening, November 6, Bethel High School selected its Daffodil Princess for 2014. Five young ladies competed for the honor of representing their school, each dressed in a beautiful gown and escorted by young men from their Senior class.
The Masters of Ceremony were Savannah Pugh and Michaela Wonacott.
Elisabeth Minor was escorted by Dominic Stull, Laura Olson (escorted by Colton Williams), Megan Chabot (escorted by Jarrod Hammond), Mary Prado (escorted by Andrew Pace) and Allyza Maranon (escorted by Philip Halverson).
Eashington nominee presented a speech on the festival theme, “Ready… Set… Grow!” Then they had to answer an impromptu question. When the judges left, the audience got to see the escorts answer impromptu questions as well. These were in good humor and the gentlemen kept their responses brief, although most were quite funny.
Noelle Kaku, the 2013 Princess, looked gracefull and poised as she delivered her well-written outgoing speech. It is amazing to see the difference between last year when she was selected and this evening. Her selection was the first Daffodil event covered by the Post.
Daffodil Festival President Judy Smith spoke a few words, noting that all of the other Princesses were in attendance since this was the last of the Princesses to fill out the court.
The five young ladies stood together on the stage, holding hands as the announcement was made. Then Noelle stepped forward and placed the tiara on Megan Chabot who politely thanked everyone.
After the event, there were refreshments in the library followed by all of the Princesses posing together on the staircase.
Congratulations Megan, you are going to have an amazing year!

It may be a week before we are able to do this, unless someone makes a donation. This is reality, we cannot make this available without your help. There is a donation tab on the right column of the page. Please help with a donation if you can. The upgrade to 10GB is $20]
