SPANAWAY, WA — Saturday night at Spanaway Lake High School, community minded individuals came out to make bids on a wide assortment of interesting items, eat great pasta from Joeseppies and take their chance on several raffles. This was all in the name of raising thousands of dollars to help send high school seniors at the Bethel and Franklin Pierce School Districts to college.
The room was filled with balloons that were for sale. Inside were raffle tickets for a $1000 drawing and other prizes. During the live auction Joe Stortini was acting auctioneer. Kiwanis Club member Elizabeth Eriksen offered to match donations for a scholarship she started for special needs seniors. There was also a special donation opportunity to fund the continuation of the LeMay Scholarship.
The fun included a desert auction and a couple a bidding wars that took a handmade quilt over $1000 and a basket of WSU Cougar gear to $500. Bravo to all the Altrusans and Kiwanis who helped make this night a success.
