You are invited!
We are looking for creative and committed Parkland citizens to participate in the development of a community mural! A community forum will take place at the Keithley Middle School Cafeteria on Wednesday, December 11th from 5:30-7:00 pm. The forum gathers people from Parkland to engage in conversation around several questions: What should the overarching narrative of the mural be? Where did the inspiration for a Parkland Mural come from? Who is interested in being involved? What expertise, resources and skills can people bring to the table? Why is Parkland important to you and how should that be represented in the mural? We are currently in design stage of the mural and need YOUR community input.
About the Mural Project:
Pending funding and a shared vision, the mural has been approved to be painted on the Parkland Post Office at the intersection of Garfield and C Streets in the Spring/Summer of 2014. Initial applications for funding include a PLU grant, Greater Tacoma Community Foundation Sparks Grant, Pierce County Arts Commission and Associated Student’s of PLU. Pacific Lutheran University owns the wall that will become the canvas, but this project is committed to representing the culture, ideas and vision of the people of Parkland.

RSVP and get connected to the project by emailing Saiyare Rafaei (PLU student) at refaeiso@plu.edu
