PSRC Seeking Public Comment on the Draft Update to Transportation 2040

PUGET SOUND REGIONAL COUNCIL — Transportation 2040 is being updated to address current issues and meet statutory requirements. The update includes new forecasts, new analysis tools, and a revised financial strategy. The update includes a framework to prioritize investments and takes a closer look at the region’s preservation and maintenance needs (called State of Good Repair).  The plan also updates the region’s Coordinated Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan and adds a new Active Transportation Plan.  Analysis shows the updated plan will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, delay, vehicle miles traveled, and vehicle hours traveled.

On January 23, 2014 the PSRC Executive Board released the Transportation 2040 Update – Draft Report for a 45-day public comment period – comments are due by 5 pm Monday – March 10.

Information about the Update, including background data and the Transportation 2040 Update – Draft Report, is available at www.psrc.org/transportation/t2040/transportation-2040-update.  For a print copy of the Draft Report, contact PSRC’s Information Center at 206-464-7532.
