I’m writing because the 2014 scholarship application is now available online, and I was hoping you could help us get the news out.  Red Canoe Credit Union will award a total of 14 scholarships – one in the amount of $3,000, five for $2,000, four for $1,500 (one specifically designated to vocational student) and four in the amount of $1,000. Applications are due March 28, 2014.

Last year, 3 of the 14 scholarship winners were from our Northern Market – including the top spot $3,000 recipient from Graham, Washington.  I’d love to see our Bethel students in the winner’s circle this year!  Please feel free to pass along to your student/teacher/parent network. Anything you can do to help spread the word would be fantastic.

Awarded annually, the W.C. (Wally) Ohlfs scholarship is available to graduating High School seniors who will be enrolling full-time in an accredited college or university.

The criteria to apply are:

1. Graduating high school senior or other person entering first year of college (High school  students who are also participating in high school college programs like “Running Start” and others, earning high school and college course credits simultaneously may be eligible).

2. Applicant must enroll in an accredited college or university as a full-time student (12 hours per term)

3. Have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0

4. When applying for the scholarship, the applicant must be a member in good standing of the credit union and have his or her own account.

(Credit union employees and the Board of Directors are not eligible for the scholarship)
