This is a reminder that there are only two more weeks left to comment on the PSRC Transportation 2040 Update – Draft Report. PLEASE SEND YOUR COMMENTS BY 5 PM MONDAY – MARCH 10, 2014
Transportation 2040-an action plan for transportation in the region- is being updated to address current issues and meet statutory requirements. The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) has released the Draft Transportation 2040 Update for a 45-day public review and comment. The public comment period will run from January 23 to March 10, 2014. The Puget Sound Regional Council is expected to adopt an updated Transportation 2040 plan in May 2014.
PSRC is committed to environmental justice. In addition to considering how Transportation 2040 affects minority residents and people with low-incomes, PSRC makes a special effort to address how this plan affects special needs populations. As part of the update process, PSRC conducted an analysis to ensure that low income and minority residents, as well as residents with special needs, benefit from Transportation 2040 and do not shoulder any negative impacts disproportionately.
Learn more about how the Draft Transportation 2040 Update affects low-income and minority people and other vulnerable residents by watching this video or reviewing the Environmental Justice Summary.
More information about the plan update, including background information and all technical appendices is available on the PSRC website. For a print copy of the entire Draft Transportation 2040 Update, including any of the Appendices, please contact PSRC’s Information Center at 206-464-7532.
