KMS staff take the Plunge, raise $1,600 for Special Olympics

FRANKLIN PIERCE SCHOOL DISTRICT — Staff of Keithley Middle School gathered near Owen’s Beach on Saturday, February 22 to take part in a statewide fundraising effort for Special Olympics Washington. Several months ago, they formed a team called PGK Plungers to participate in the 2014 Polar Plunge.PGK%20Plungers1

Special Olympics Polar Plunge is a fundraising effort organized by law enforcement agencies across the state to beneift Special Olympics Washington. The unique event gives individuals, organizations, and businesses the chance to support Special Olympics Washington by collecting pledges for the “opportunity” to plunge into frigid water across Washington State.

Each participant was required to raise a minimum of $50 in order to take the plunge. In total, Keithley staff raised $1,600.

All proceeds collected by Plungers benefit Special Olympics Washington and the 10,000 athletes across the state.
